BATMAN: When Bruce Wayne's parents were mugged and murdered, the small child swore vengeance.  The young multi-billionaire, used his large fortune to train his body and his mind in every possible fashion.  Donning a cape and cowl, he became the Dark Knight a nightmare for criminals, and the coming of a legend.  Both as a member of the JLA and as vigilante, Batman is exacting his vengeance, and keeping the Streets of Gotham City Safe.

Superman: Born on Krypton and rocketed to Earth as it was destroyed, the infant Kryptionian was found by the Kents, and given the name Clark.  Raised in Smallville, Clark now lives in Metropolis as a reporter for the Daily Planet, but his true secret is that he is the Man of Steel... gifted with great powers and dedicated to truth, justice and freedom for all.


Apollo: Apollo extracts his powers from the sun, obtaining super strength, super speed, flying abilities and an enormous resistance. He was recruited by Henry Bendix as part of a secret Stormwatch spin off. However, their first mission was a failure and Apollo hardly survived. Besides, Bendix put a price to his head and he had to hide for 5 years in company of his mate Midnighter, the only other survivor of the mission. When Bendix was presumed dead, he was contacted by Jenny Sparks and joined the Authority. Apollo is a bit impulsive, but basically comfortable in his hero role.

Midnighter: Midnighter was an ordinary human until he was artificially enhanced with an altered nervous system plus hyperstrong bones and muscles. He now has neural implants and memory induction that make him capable of analyzing any fight from a million different angles even before a single punch has been landed. Midnighter and his mate Apollo were recruited for a mission that turned out to be a failure. After that, they both spent 5 years hiding from Henry Bendix until Jackson King told them that he was presumably dead. Then, Jenny Sparks contacted them and talked them into joining the Authority. Even though Midnighter was reluctant, Apollo agreed and they both became members of the team.
