roninxAmanda Waller: Nicknamed “the Wall,” Amanda is a former congressional aide and government agent often placed in charge of the Suicide Squad , a semi-secret government-run group of former supervillains working in return for amnesty. She was also the former leader of the covert ops organization, Checkmate .  Presently, Amanda serves as the Director of Meta-Human Affairs under the current President of the United States, a position that puts her into constant conflict with the costumed heroes of the world.  Under orders from the President himself, Amanda has returned to Checkmate with the objective of recreating Task Force X, the former Suicide Squad.

Captain Atom: A former member of the Justice League and leader of Justice League Europe, Captain Nathaniel Adam was taught long ago when to lead and when to follow. Approached by Waller to lead the new Task Force X, Adam has stepped back into the limelight from which he had been conspicuously absent and taken the leadership reins of America’s personal meta-team. Captain Atom wields energy powers of all ranges from nuclear to x-ray to heat and light. He is able to absorb all forms of energy and either boost his own strength and powers or redirect to his enemy.

Cheshire: A vicious assassin, Jade Nguyen long ago lost her ability to feel guilty. A single night resulted in Jade being impregnated by Roy Harper, the Titan known as Arsenal. Nine months later, baby Lian was born. Cheshire is not known for her weaknesses but, perhaps, the greatest that she possesses is the love that she feels for her daughter. Jade has joined Task Force X in the hope that her past digressions will be forgotten and she can make a new life for herself with Lian at her side. Besides being a skilled hand-to-hand combatant trained in several martial arts thought forever lost, Cheshire is an expert triple-jointed acrobat and uses this skill to move quickly and unexpectedly. Of bigger concern are her artificial fingernails, which she dips in several varieties of poisons.

S.T.R.I.P.E.: Patrick Dugan is no amateur when it comes to risking his life for the greater good. A former military man, Pat has spent many years inside the suit of armor that was formerly one half of Stars and Stripe. In recent years, Pat has settled down in Nebraska where he and his second wife have begun to raise their family. However, when Amanda Waller came to visit one night, Pat woke up the next morning with a one-way ticket into Task Force X. Hoping to keep his family safe, Pat has resolved to do Waller’s bidding…at least, for the time being. The S.T.R.I.P.E. armor, having recently been upgraded is equipped with lasers, flight, durability and many other surprises.

Doctor Polaris: A researcher in magnetism, Doctor Neal Emerson was able to demonstrate his field’s use in medicine; unfortunately, continued exposure to high-level magnetic fields produced a split personality-the “good” Doctor Emerson and the “evil” Doctor Polaris. Over the years, the Polaris and Emerson personalities fought for dominance, until Polaris was approached by the devil Neron.  In essence, Polaris sold Neron Emerson’s soul in exchange for simply being rid of the other side of his personality. Doctor Polaris continues to have psychotic episodes, though, much less frequently than in the past. Emerson found a way to internalize his magnetic powers giving him the ability to generate and manipulate magnetic fields.
