The Boy of Tomorrow.....
"Home Sweet Home"

They say you can’t go home again.
I used to think that it was a stupid saying, mainly because I never had
a home to go back too. Unless you count Cadmus Labs, but that
wasn’t a home that was more like a prison than anything.
Then HE came along with an idea...
Metropolis
One week ago…
“You want me to what?!” Kon asked with a bit of wonder in
his voice as he and Superman flew over Metropolis. He had been hanging
in the big city since Robin his best friend and teammate told him that
the team was going to be put on hold for a while. “You
can’t be serious.”
“I am serious, Kon. I think it’s time you started to have a
normal childhood,” Superman answered landing on the roof of the
Daily Planet Building. He had been thinking about it for a while and
thought it was time that his young sidekick had the one thing he had
been lacking in his existence. A normal life. “Kon you need this,
you can’t be the spot light seeking Kid of Steel all the time. Do
you think I fly around in this suit all the time?”
“Well no.”
“That’s right I take it off and live a normal life just
like most of the other heroes out there.” Superman stated.
“Robin, Star Spangled Kid, Impulse, Arrowette they all have lives
away from the masks. I think it’s time you knew what that was
like.”
“Say I think this idea may work, I’m pretty well known. How
will I be able to have a normal life if everyone starts yelling
‘Superboy’ all the time?” Superboy asked looking down
towards the ground below.
Reaching behind his cape Superman took out a black case and
handed it to Superboy. “No one will recognize you with
these.”
Opening the case Kon looked at what was inside and then looked at
Superman while trying not to laugh. “These are going to make sure
no one recognizes me as Superboy. A pair of glasses,” Kon said
taking the glasses out and looking at them for a moment before putting
them on. “What are they some kind of high-tech Kryptonian device
that will, like, let people see a different face, or something?”
“No, they’re just a plain pair of glasses that you put on
your face. Like mine,” Doing a quick change into his Clark Kent
persona he slipped on his glasses and then looked at Kon.
“You’d be surprised how a simple thing like glasses can
make people see you as someone totally different,” said Clark as
he tossed Superboy a small bag. “Here put these on.”
Looking in the bag Kon took out a pair of jeans, tan work boots, a
white shirt, and a black hoody pullover. Getting dressed quickly he
then topped it off with the pair of glasses Clark had given him.
“So what do we do now?”
“We’re going to go meet a friend,” Clark replied
heading down the staircase of the Daily Planet. “She should be
waiting for us down in the lobby.” Heading down to the lower
level of the newspaper building Clark and Kon were greeted by the
familiar face of Lana Lang. “Lana glad you could make it on such
short notice.”
“Clark Kent you should know by now that I would cancel lunch with
the Queen if you needed me,” Lana said as she looked to the side
and saw who was standing beside Clark. “And this must be the
cousin you told me about. What’s your name honey?”
That was a good question Clark had not thought about when he thought
this idea up. He looked at Kon and Kon looked back at him, both having
puzzled looks on their faces.
Thinking about it for a moment Kon thought of a name he’d like.
“The name’s Kent, Connor Kent. Nice to meet you.”
And that’s how it all started. Lana took me to some of the
clothing shops to buy a bunch of new clothes for when I started my new
life as Connor Kent. But the new name and new outfit was only the tip
of the iceberg. What came next was going to one of the toughest
challenges I would ever face.
Smallville, Kansas
Now...
Standing out on the porch of the Kent family farm Connor took in a deep
breath and then let it out while looking around the area.
To Connor this place was beautiful.
This place was peaceful.
This place was quiet.
This place was... BORING!
“How did you survive living here for all those years
Clark?” Connor asked sitting on the steps of the porch.
“There is nothing to do here. This place doesn’t have
satellite or even DSL. The nearest neighbor is like, five miles away.
What am I supposed to do for fun around here?”
“Look Connor, having a normal life isn’t all about having
fun. It’s about learning what it’s like to be a normal
kid.” Clark said leaning on the rail of the porch. “That
means doing chores around the farm, cleaning your room, and going to
school to get a little more education. Maybe even participate in some
after school activities.”
“School?” asked Connor. “Don’t you need former
school records, birth certificate, and a Social Security card before
you can attend a new school?”
“Yes and you have all those things, Connor, thanks to
Oracle,” Clark said with a smile. “I had her create
everything you’ll need to live life as Connor Kent.”
Oracle…
I remember Robin talking about her. She’s supposed to be the
Bat’s high-tech computer hacker. I heard she’s the best
there is at what she does. Thought Connor as he took his glasses
off and looked at them. “I still can’t believe I have to
wear these things. How in the world does Superman hide himself from the
world behind a simple pair of glasses?”
“The answer's simple Connor. The world doesn’t expect
Superman to go back to a normal life when he’s done fighting
space invaders and super villains. They think I hide in some secret
base waiting for trouble to happen,” Clark answered as he
suddenly looked off into the distance. Within a split second he was
changed from Clark Kent back into his Superman suit. “Speaking of
trouble, I have to get going.”
“Wait up!” Connor exclaimed getting up from the porch.
“I’ll go with you.”
“No you won’t,” Superman said as he hovered in the
air for a moment. “You have school tomorrow morning Connor. You
need to get your rest, is that understood?”
Connor slipped his glasses back on and sat back down on the porch
looking up at Superman. “Yeah I got’cha,” he replied
giving a thumbs up. “Go get ’em, big blue.”
Giving a small nod Superman flew off into the sky in a red and blue
blur heading for some new deadly threat. Connor on the other hand had
to prepare himself to face his greatest challenge, his first day at
Smallville High School.
Smallville High School
7:40 a.m. the next morning…
“Thanks for the lift to school Mr. and Mrs. Kent,” Connor
said getting out of the old pick up truck. Grabbing his bag out of the
back he was met by Martha who gave him a small hug.
“We’re family now Connor. You don’t have to keep
calling us Mr. and Mrs. Kent,” Martha said as she fixed his
collar of his button up baby blue shirt. “Now you have a nice day
at school and remember no powers while you’re here. I know
it’s going to be difficult not to but even Clark had to try and
be normal while at school.”
“Not a problem Auntie M, I’ll try my best to be just
another teenager while in the grand halls of Smallville High
School,” Connor said slinging his bag over his shoulder.
“But it’s hard you know? When I put on these glasses
it’s like someone’s locking me up in a cage or something.
I’m so used to being free to fly and go where I want to go. Now I
have you and Uncle Jon to answer to.”
“I know son,” Jonathon said getting out of the truck.
Putting his hand on Connor’s shoulder he looked him in the eyes
and smiled at the young man standing in front of him. “I know
it’s hard pretending to be normal like this, but you never know
what will happen to you one day. You could be in an accident and have
your powers taken away from you and then you would be normal. Like
Clark said, you’re part human and part Kryptonian. Which means
you need a balance between your human side and your alien side. Being a
normal student is the human part of you, while being Superboy is the
alien side of you. You can do both if you give it a try. What do you
say, son?”
Connor looked at Jonathan and then at Martha for a moment and smiled at
them both. “I say I’m going to be late for my first
class,” replied Connor giving his adoptive parents a hug.
“I’ll see you guys after school.”
“And don’t forget Connor, we have to clean out the barn
when you get home,” Jonathan said as Connor gave a thumbs up and
headed into the school.
“I think he’s going to make us proud Martha,”
Jonathan said opening Martha’s door and helping her back into the
truck.
“I know Jonathan,” said Martha with a smile as she watched
her husband get back into the truck and the two headed back to their
farm.
A secret location
8:30 a.m...
It happens quickly. I doubt even the Flash could have stopped it from
happening.
Though not without pain.
The man falls to the ground with an almost silent thud. If you had
super hearing like Superman you could probably hear the man’s
heart slowly come to a stop.
The body will be dealt with in the usual manner. Cleaners will be
called in to take care of the body and get rid of any evidence that may
be on it or within the room.
His body will be found in an alley somewhere, by a homeless person, or
maybe a beat cop making his rounds through the alleyways making sure
everything is okay.
People will ask questions.
Investigations will be made into who the man was and why he died.
Headlines about the gruesome murder will fill the Daily Planet’s
headlines for the next couple days. The cops will have an arrest by
tomorrow thanks to an anonymous tip called into the local Metropolis PD
Crime Tip Hotline. And in a week the whole thing will be forgotten.
“So who was he anyway?” asked a young man with fiery red
hair.
“He, my dear Hotstreak, is no longer of importance,” a
woman said walking back to sit behind her large oak desk.
The woman is unknown to her underlings, but they follow her orders
without question. Her name is as much a mystery as her origins. She
simply goes by the name Mistress L and she knows one day her criminal
reign will be the stuff of legends.
“You know,” another young man said forming a couple
blades from his hands. “I could have taken him out for you
Mistress L. It would have been a little messy, but at least you
wouldn’t have had to gotten your hands dirty.”
“A message needed to be sent to others like him, Shiv,” the
woman said leaning back into her seat. “And it was important that
everyone knew it was sent by hand and that I mean business.”
“So what’s next boss?” a hooded female asked walking
out of the shadows.
“There is work for all you to do my sweet Speedy,” said
Mistress L as she turned to look out the large bay window that sat
behind her. “There are things that must be done. And there are
certain men and women that must die.”
“So are you finally making your move, L?” Hotstreak asked
as he created a small ball of flame appearing in his hand.
“I will make our move soon,” Mistress L replied running her
finger over a file folder that was marked confidential. “As I
slowly build my power base, I shall make this city mine. And along the
way I will destroy those who caused trouble for my father by destroying
those closest to them. Starting with him...” Opening the folder
she turned it around to show the others.
“Superboy?!” Speedy asked looking at the photo that was
attached to the file. “You want us to take down the Kid of
Steel?”
“How are we supposed to do that, with a spitball shooter?”
Shiv asked.
“No,” Mistress L replied pressing a button on her desk.
Then on a nearby wall a space opened up revealing a large metal box
made of lead. “Open it up Speedy.”
Walking over to the box the young hooded girl known as Speedy opened
the box and opened it up to reveal over a dozen differently designed
arrows. Each arrow did something different, but they all were designed
for the same purpose, to take down Superboy.
“What are these made of?” Speedy asked taking one of the
eerie green glowing arrows out and looking at it. “Is this what I
think it is?”
“Kryptonite. Each one is crafted to take down Superboy.”
Mistress L replied with a smile. “But those are for later. Now I
am in need of all your particular skills in a little matter.”
“What do you want us to do?” Hotstreak asked.
Mistress L smiled while looking at the three that stood before her.
“Simple I want you to plug a leak,” She said as she stood
up. “Now if you would excuse me I have some place I have to be.
Ebon, if you would?”
“Not a problem boss lady,” a voice said from the
shadows. Suddenly the shadows shot out and began to engulf Mistress L
and within seconds she was gone.
“Where do you think she goes?” Shiv asked as the three
walked out of the room.
“Who knows?” Speedy replied.
Smallville,
Kansas…
Inside the yellow, red, and black painted walls, students move from one
class to another just so they can learn the lessons of the day. Connor
on the other hand moves from class to class just so he can just get
through the day.
“Man I don’t, don’t see how Clark did this everyday
when he was coming here,” Connor said walking down the hallway.
Looking at his class schedule to see what his next class was supposed
to be, Connor almost laughed when he saw what was on the paper.
“Journalism Class. Clark you really do have a twisted sense of
humor. Now where is the class room?”
“Down this way,” a voice replied for Connor. “Just
follow me. I’m headed that way myself.”
“Thanks. I...” Connor said turning around to be greeted the
sight of a cute female with short blond hair, brown eyes, and wearing a
short tee shirt that showed off her stomach, and a pair of baggy cargo
jeans. “...uh....I’m kind of new here and don’t know
where anything’s at.”
“You must be the new guy. I heard we a had a new student joining
the class.”
“Yeah that’s me, Connor Kent, new student,” Connor
said extending his hand. “And your name would be?”
“Shyleen Lao. But everyone around here calls me Shy. Nice to meet
you Connor,” Shy said shaking Connor’s hand. As they walked
to Journalism Class she looked over at Connor and asked, “You
said your name was Kent, as in Clark Kent?”
“Yeah, he’s kind of my cousin,” replied Connor as
they stood in front of the class door. “Why do you ask?”
“Because,” Shyleen said opening the door and ushering
Connor in. “Your cousin’s kind of famous in this
class.”
“Whoa,” Connor commented as he looked around the
class and saw several photos of Clark standing with some of the past
Journalism Classes. On the far wall several of Clark’s newspaper
articles had been clipped out from the Daily Planet. “I’m
going to kill Clark for this.”
“Mr. Lizhini, I would like you too meet our newest student,
Connor Kent,” Shyleen said as she closed the door behind Connor.
“Connor, this is our Journalism teacher, Mr. Lizhini. He’s
also head of the Journalism Club.”
“Nice to meet you sir,” Connor said shaking the
teacher’s hand.
“Glad you could join us, Mister Kent. Why don’t you go and
take a seat next to Shyleen,” Mr. Lizhini said pointing to a seat
to the left of Shyleen’s. “Well Mister Kent here has joined
us just in time. Today we are going to start a new assignment about
heroes and villains. I want each of you to pick someone to write an
article about. It can be a solo hero or a team. It can be a hero or a
villain. You choose, and in two weeks the Journalism Club will be
running a special edition of the paper entitled ‘Heroes and
Villains: What They Mean To Us.’ Today all I want you to do is
think about who you want to write about. So get to it, and have
fun.”
Great, even in
school I can’t get away from the whole hero and villain thing,
Connor thought leaning back in his seat. “So who are you going to
choose?” Connor asked looking over at Shyleen.
“I don’t know, Black Canary maybe, or one of those girls
from Young Justice,” Shyleen replied opening her laptop. Connor
couldn’t see the web address she was typing but he couldn’t
mistake what he saw on the screen. “Heck I may do it about the
man himself- Superboy.”
“Is that a Superboy Website?”
“Yeah, it’s one of the most highly populated sites out
there,” Shyleen said showing Connor the Website. “It gets
almost a thousand hits a day.”
“Who ever did it has done a good job,” Connor said as he
looked at some photos of things he did back when he was first getting
started as a superhero. He saw a photo of himself and Supergirl
rescuing some people on a bridge back when the world thought Superman
was dead. “I like it.”
“Thanks,” Shyleen said. “It took me a while to get it
up and going. I had to do a lot of searching for photos and facts about
Superboy when I first got started. Now it’s a little easier since
people send me photos of him wherever he may be. I just got some photos
of him and the rest of Young Justice not too long ago.”
“You do good work,” Connor said looking at a caption on one
photo of himself and Robin that said ‘The Next Generation Batman
and Superman’.
“Thanks Connor,” Shyleen replied. “So who are you
going to write about?”
“I don’t know maybe Wonder Woman, or Green Arrow,
possibly Green Lantern,” Connor replied while thinking about who
he could write about. “I mean the list could go on forever,
Superman, Batman, Flash, Plastic Man, Steel, Aztek, Booster Gold, Blue
Beetle, Fire, Shining Knight, Dr. Midnight, Hawkman, the Atom,
Aquaman… There are lots to choose from and that’s not
including the villain side of the list.”
“I for one am going to do a report on Superman,” a red
headed girl said from behind Shyleen. “I hear he and Lex Luthor
have some kind of grudge against one another. So who’s the hotty,
Shy?”
“Alexis this is Connor,” Shyleen said pointing to Connor,
“Connor Kent, let me introduce you too Alexis Langstrom.”
“Everyone calls me Lexi,” she said lightly shaking
Connor’s hand. “Shy I think you should bring the new guy to
Club Zero this weekend.”
“What’s Club Zero?” Connor asked.
“It’s a teen hot spot,” Shyleen replied. “We go
there on Friday nights to hang and chill with some of our
friends.”
“You should come with us tomorrow night,” Lexi said looking
at Connor with a lustful look.
“I might just do that,” Connor said looking back at Lexi.
“I mean I usually go to the city to visit my cousin anyway. I
might as well have some fun while I’m there.”
“I’ll see you there handsome,” Lexi said with a wink
as she went back to her work.
Shyleen laughed for a moment before turning back in her own seat and
continuing to work on her own report.
Connor leaned back in his seat and tried not to fall asleep while
everyone else worked on their class assignments. He had to think really
hard on who he would choose since he knew pretty much everyone in the
super hero community.
This is going
to be a hard choice to make, Connor thought to
himself.
Smallville, Kansas
Outside of Smallville High School
After school…
“Daddy!” Shyleen yelled as she saw her dad standing outside
waiting for his daughter. Connor stayed back as Shyleen ran up to her
dad. “I’m surprised to see you outside of the lab. I
thought you would be working late as usual.”
“Well I thought I would come and pick up my baby girl from school
today,” Professor Lao said giving his daughter a hug. “I
thought maybe we could grab something to eat. But first why not
introduce me to your new friend over there?”
“Oh, my bad dad,” said Shyleen as she waved Connor over.
“Dad I would like you to meet Connor Kent. Connor this is my dad,
Professor Marcus Lao.”
“Nice to meet you Professor,” Connor said shaking Mister
Lao’s hand.
“A pleasure to meet you Connor,” Professor Lao replied.
“Would you care to join us for dinner?”
“Uh, well I will have to call my Aunt and Uncle, and make sure
it’s okay,” Connor replied. “But…”
Before Connor could finish what he was going to say a large black car
pulled up behind the Professor and four rather large men stepped out
and walked towards the Professor Lao.
“Professor Lao,” one of the large men said stepping
forward. “Your presence has been requested by our employer.
Please come with us, sir.”
“Dad? Wha...”
“Shhh my li’l Shyleen. I have to go with these
gentlemen,” Professor Lao said placing his finger on his
daughter’s lips to silence her. “Just take the car, go
home, and I will see you soon.”
Walking to the car Professor Lao looked back at his daughter with a
scared look before getting into the car and taking off.
“Hey, come on now...” As tears started running down
Shyleen’s face, Connor took something out of his pocket and wiped
away her tears. “I’m sure everything’s going to be
just fine.”
“Oh, Connor. I’m so scared,” Shyleen said wrapping
her arms around his waist and putting her face in his chest. “My
dad looked so scared. I don’t know what’s happening, but I
do know something is wrong.”
“Everything will be fine, Shy, I promise,” Connor
said as he looked her in the eyes. He knew he had to do something but
he had to make sure Shyleen was gone before he did anything. “Shy
I think you should go home and wait for your dad like he told you to.
I’m going to see what I can do.”
“Why are you doing this?”
“I can’t help it. Helping people is in my genes,”
Connor said as he watched Shyleen head to her car. Taking off his
glasses Connor headed off into the shadows. Opening his shirt to reveal
a black tee shirt with a red ‘S’ shield on it he said,
“This looks like a job for...”
Turning around to say something to Connor, Shyleen found instead
nothing. He was gone and she wondered where he could have vanished.
“Now where did Connor go to?”
“...SUPERBOY!” the Teen of Steel yelled rocketing through
the sky.
After a few moments, Superboy finally caught up with the car. But
instead of stopping it where it was, he decided to follow it instead
and see just where they were taking Professor Lao.
Metropolis
A short time later…
High above the city a man cloaked in shadows looks over the glittering
city. He contemplates his future while looking back on his past.
“I’m glad you’ve decided to join me Professor,”
the man said stepping from the shadows.
“It’s not like I had much of a choice,” Professor Lao
replied looking at each of the large men that stood at his side.
“I’ve never had much of a choice in the things I’ve
had to do for you.”
“Please Professor... you were never the innocent victim in
any of this,” the man said turning to look at the Professor.
“You knew exactly what you were getting involved in when you
signed up with me. And things are beginning to happen now, Marcus.
She’s making her move on the various crime figures in Metropolis,
and New York.”
“You knew she wouldn’t just stay in last place forever,
Styx,” Lao said looking at the man in front of him. “You
knew she was building an army, it was a matter of time before she went
to war on you and the others.”
“As long as she stayed small we could keep her under
control,” the man known as Styx stated. “Now she’s
gaining power with every new day and that is something I can ill
afford.”
“So what do you want me to do?”
“That my dear Professor is quite simple,” Styx began,
“you are going to create an army for me just like you did for
her.”
“I would never forgive myself for what I did to those poor
souls,” Marcus Lao said shaking his head in disagreement.
“I won’t do those things to anyone else.”
“A war is coming Lao and I would much rather have you as an ally
in it than an enemy,” Styx said putting his hand on the
Professor’s shoulder. “Join me Marcus, and I can see to it
that you and your daughter are well protected when the time
comes.”
“And if I don’t join you? What then?”
“What will happen if you say no Professor,” Styx said as he
snapped his fingers and the four men that had brought Professor Lao
removed their guns from the inside of their jackets.
“No! No! You can’t kill the good Professor,” a voice
said as one of the bodyguards fell to the ground with a glowing knife
in his back. “Now if you guys are smart you will put the guns
away and leave.”
“Looks like they’re not that smart after all,” Speedy
said as she stepped out of the shadows and fired a bolo arrow at one of
the bodyguards tying him up.
On Speedy’s left side one of the bodyguards pointed his gun and
prepared to fire. But before he could the gun was melted in his hands.
“Low level thugs never are,” Hotstreak said as the
bodyguard screamed because of the molten metal that covered his hand.
“So who wants the last bodyguard?”
“I do,” Speedy replied as she pulled a razor tipped arrow
from the holder on her back and pulled back. Taking aim she released
the arrow and watched as it sailed through the air towards the human
target. But the arrow suddenly disappeared before it could strike its
target. “What the-”
“You know you should really watch where you shoot these
things,” a voice said as the arrow was launched at the ground in
front of Speedy and the others. “I mean really, you could put
someone’s eye out with that thing.”
“I should have known one of those hero types were going to show
up before too long,” Hotstreak said looking up at the source of
the voice. “It’s Super-kid.”
“Boy! Super BOY! Get it right,” Superboy said lowering in
between the three villains and Professor Lao.
“Come on…” Shiv said as he transformed his fingers
into daggers. “The boss said this was going to be a simple job.
What’s he doing here?”
“Getting in our way of course,” Hotstreak replied releasing
a large blast of intense heat towards Superboy and the others.
“Let’s just fry them all and get out of here.”
After a few minutes the flames began to disappear. Hotstreak, Shiv, and
Speedy all watched as Superboy, Professor Lao, and Styx stood there
without so much as a bead of sweat on them.
“How?” Speedy asked.
“It’s called telekinesis,” Superboy replied.
“And I can use it as a force field to protect us from fire
boy’s heat powers.”
“Let’s see if he can handle something like this,”
Speedy said as she drew a small explosive tip arrow and launched it at
the spot beneath the fourth bodyguard. On impact the arrow exploded and
sent the guard falling towards the edge of the roof. “You best
hurry Superboy before that guy makes a new smear on the ground
below.”
“You guys are nuts!” Superboy exclaimed as he ran and
jumped off the edge of the building soaring downwards trying to catch
the large man before he impacted with the street below.
“Now while the hero’s away we can finish these guys
off,” Shiv said with a small snicker. “So who wants to die
first guys?” Shiv fired one of his blades from his fingers
towards Styx, but was surprised when Styx grabbed the Professor and
placed him in front of the on coming blade.
“You really are a rat Styx,” Speedy said signaling for Shiv
to finish the job.
“That blade might have missed you Styx, but lucky for you I have
more where that came from,” Shiv said firing more blades at the
crime lord. “My watch says it’s time for you to die!”
“Funny,” Superboy said as he nailed Shiv with a hard right
hook that sent him flying. “My watch says it’s time for you
to get knocked out. So what’s up with you guys anyway? What did
these guys ever do to you?”
“You might want to ask the Professor and his friend that
question,” Hotstreak replied releasing multiple fireballs at
Superboy. “We were just told to kill them both and not ask
questions.”
“Well guess what hot head,” Superboy said as he nailed
Hotstreak with a TK punch that sent him sliding across the roof.
“There’s no way I’m letting you guys kill anyone
tonight! Now to deal with you, you Green Arrow wannabe.”
“I’d think twice before making a move towards me
hero,” Speedy said holding up a small device. “You see
unlike my partners there I came with a back up plan. Ebon! Evac
now!”
“One Evac coming up babe,” a voice said from the shadows.
Superboy watched as the shadows snaked forward and engulfed both
Hotstreak and Shiv in the darkness.
“See ya Superboy,” Speedy said as she pressed the button on
the device and then disappeared into the shadows.
“Time to go guys!” Superboy said as he took both men by
their belts. “I have a feeling this place is about to go out with
a bang.” Taking off into the sky with the two men Superboy was
only a few seconds ahead of the blast as it happened.
Using his telekinesis to shield them Superboy and the other gentlemen
were still rocked by the force of the explosion. After a few moments
they landed on the street below where they were greeted by more of
Styx’s heavily armed bodyguards.
“Hand over the boss and the Professor kid!” the lead man
said holding a large cannon type gun aimed at Superboy.
“Your boss you can have,” Superboy said tossing the man
into his hired goons. He stood in front of Professor Lao and continued.
“The only place the Professor here is going is the
hospital.”
“I said he’s coming...”
Before the bodyguard could finish he was cut off by Styx. “Let
him go,” Styx said getting into the black limo that waited for
him. “He’s dead no matter who he is with now.”
Lowering their weapons the men returned to their cars and took off into
the distance. Leaving Superboy with more questions than he had answers
at the moment.
“Don’t worry Mr. Lao I’m going to get you to the
hospital,” Superboy said as he bent down to help the Professor.
“No… wait… Superboy y-you ha-have too
lis-listen,” Professor Lao said weakly. “They’re
coming… coming for you Superboy.”
“Who’s coming for me Professor?” Superboy
asked.
“The Four Horsemen.” the Professor replied before passing
out.
To be continued…
Next Issue: Even before the party can begin it gets crashed. And
how will Superboy deal with a new threat that may be too much for him.
Come back next time as The Four Horsemen strike!
