Similar to the MV1 Fanfiction Project and others before it, JLU 2001 is a collection of shared-continuity stories beginning after a certain point in DC continuity (specifically, after JLA #4). Based initially around the Justice League of America, the project has a number of ongoing and anthology series and always a number of projects in the making. These stories are written by fans, for fans, and the project is continually growing in size.

JLU 2001 is currently accepting proposals for new ongoing and mini-series, as well as stories for anthology titles, as always. If you are interested in writing something at JLU 2001, send proposals and plot outlines or just general ideas to Editor-in-Chief Curt Fernlund or Assistant Editor Kim Johnson. We will not accept all proposals, but all ideas are given a chance.

We suggest that any aspiring writers look at our current titles as well as the Character Dibs and Appearances List and the JLU 2001 Site Guidelines. The former will give you an idea of what characters are available for use, while the latter should tell you how things are run around here. All writers are required to subscribe to the JLU Mailing List, and we suggest any of our readers to do so as well to discuss the site or just comics in general.

Hello all,

On the verge of another holiday so it must be time for another update.  JLU: 2001 has 6 new tales this month, just in time for the long Independence Day weekend.  Hope you like them.

Read on...

First...

Oracle continues to gather her flock, but it seems someone is doing the same on the dark side of the alley as well...

Birds of Prey Volume 2 #01: Birds Reassembled by Patrick Moore

And then...

Superman, Zauriel and the Martian Manhunter arrive back on the moon, just in time as the White Martians attack!  Also Krona!  The CSA!  Guest satrs galore!  Read...

JLA #55: 'Blackest Night' Part 6: The Dark Before the Dawn by Mark Anderson & Curt Fernlund

And in WILDSTORM...

Things get wild and loose as the team is attacked by Tiny Tots and Mini Me's, all the result of one Jenny or other wishing to teach her family a lesson.  Don't look at me, I just work here...

Authority #01: “Confluence of Interest” by Ed Ainsworth

Holden Carver's little slice of Hell gets a bit warmer as TAO proceeds with plans that only he might fathom.  But help is on the way, in the form of Lynch and the forces of I/O.  But will they be in time...

Sleeper: Epilogue #04: “Opposing Forces” by Jae Lizhini

The WildC.A.T.s try to get a handle on things as the world- as usual- is coming apart at the seams all around them.  grifter shoots things, and Marlowe gets uppity, at least until they find out that Zealot is dead!

WildC.A.T.s #05: “Buyer's Remorse” by Chris Munn & Dino Pollard

Void loses her connection and drags her team through the BLEED  and the other titles at Wildstorm.  Your chance to get caught up, with an ending that explains a lot- if you're paying attention...

Crucible #04: “Orchestral Maneuvers in the BLEED” by Curt Fernlund

In an effort to support the Heroes Fanfic Community as a whole and to promote the many underrated DC Websites out there, which get sometimes overwhelmed in the flood of Mutants and Gamma-spawned monstrosities, JLU: 2001, DC Anthology, DC Infinity, DC Legends and Faux DC have banded together to offer an alternative. Check out all the great Fanfic set in a DC Universe!  Links at Left...

Now...

Go! Read! Enjoy!

JLU: 2001, Vertigo: Subculture and Wildstorm are always taking proposals, so if you have a desire to come over to the other side send us your ideas.

And remember, if you like what you see, let us know. Our writers try really hard to give everyone some entertainment, so if you like a story- or even if you don't- drop 'em a line, write a review or just let them know that you read it...

And play safe with your fireworks this 4th, people!  Hard to type with no fingers...

Thanks...
